The colour of the ground will affect everything on top of it, both the painted and unpainted areas, even different shades of white.
The artist can substantially alter the mood and atmosphere of the painting by using a coloured paper. These Bockingford tinted papers are worth experimentation.
This tinted paper is also a great drawing paper and is useful for a wide range of techniques.
